…a big hit for women in Central Maine
 
Inland Hospital’s 16th annual women’s health fair brought more than 500 women together for a day of wellness, pampering, and learning on April 6 at Thomas College in Waterville. This year’s World of Women’s Wellness offered free health screenings, pampering services, wellness exhibits, and several fun, interactive demonstrations.
 
“It’s a great way for local women to have fun and find ways to improve their health,” said Sara Dyer, Director of Community Relations for Inland Hospital. “We are proud to collaborate with so many great organizations in the area to make this event possible.”
 
The popular event provided hundreds of free health screenings including blood pressure, cholesterol, bone density, breast exams, and more. Dozens of local businesses and organizations joined Inland Hospital to bring the Central Maine community the premier wellness event of the year.  This event continues to be a huge success thanks to the coordinated efforts of numerous Inland employees, community volunteers, speakers, and collaborating partners. 
 
More than 200 free spa samples were enjoyed by women as well. Spa services offered by area salons like hand massage, hair and make-up consultations, and complimentary health services like Reiki, massage, and Paraffin therapy sessions made the World of Women’s Wellness a total-body health event.
 
On-stage interactive demonstrations offered participants opportunities to have fun while learning helpful, easy cooking and shopping tips and new ways to be active. Hannaford generously served up a variety of delicious samplings throughout the day at their popular booth.  The event was brought to an energetic close by an enthusiastic group of therapeutic drummers.
