Inland Hospital's Sept. 16th Let's Go! Event Kicks Off 6th Year of Active Family Fun

Release Date: 08/16/2017

Inland Hospital kicks off its 6th year-long LET’S GO! Family Fun Series on Saturday, September 16. The LET’S GO! Family Fun Celebration will take place at Head of Falls on Front Street, downtown Waterville between 1 and 3pm.

This free, family-friendly event will include fun activities promoting the 5-2-1-0 healthy habits, kite making (free kits for first 200 kids!) and flying, a “musical petting zoo”, games and other activities along the riverfront and trails, healthy snacks, prizes, giveaways, and more.

Inland Hospital’s popular LET’S GO! Family Fun Series wrapped up its 5th year-long series of monthly events in August with hundreds of families exploring new places and fun ways to be active together – from warm weather activities like biking and hiking, to all things winter including snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sledding, and ice skating.  The series also coordinates local events with state-wide annual happenings like Open Farm Day and Great Maine Outdoor Weekend.

The LET’S GO! Family Fun Celebration on September 16 will launch a new series of free, monthly events for the 2017-2018 program year that includes annual favorites like Healthy Kids Day and the Kiwanis Kids Health & Safety Fun Fair. New collaborative events include a fall hike with Bangor Daily News outdoor reporter and author, Aislinn Sarnacki, a painting activity during Youth Art Month, and a hike & bike event at Quarry Road Trails.

Collaborating partners for the program include the Alfond Youth Center and Waterville Parks & Recreation along with Healthy Northern Kennebec, Hannaford, Kiwanis, Waterville Creates! and many other local organizations and volunteers who join Inland to link families to free and low cost activities that encourage life-long healthy habits.
