This year Inland Hospital honors two clinical staff members (one nursing/one non-nursing), as nominated by their peers, for their clinical excellence. The purpose of the award is to acknowledge the passion, competency and professionalism that so many of our clinical staff practices each and every day. Inland is proud to announce this year’s winners:

Nursing Clinical Excellence Award Winner:

Melody Gillis, RN, Medical/Surgical Unit: Melody is a dedicated nurse who exemplifies professionalism and compassion. She has been a nurse for 30 years with the last 21 years working on the Medical/Surgical unit.

Other nominees for the nursing award included: Penny LaPlante (Med/Surg) & Bob Reisner (Surgical Services).

Non-Nursing Clinical Excellence Award Winner:

Susan Constable, MT, Laboratory: Susan has always demonstrated the willingness to do whatever it takes to meet the laboratory’s mission. Susan has been a Medical Technologist for 35 years and has been with Inland for 11 years.

Other nominees for the nursing award included: Sonya Frost (Rehab Services), Sonya Mathieu (Imaging) & Dayle McDermott (Inland Women’s Health Care).

Melody and Susan each win an all-expense paid trip to a national conference of their specialty within the continental US during the next fiscal year. Along with last year’s winners Karen Doczy-Bordi, RN and Russ Claybrook, SLP, they will assist administration in selecting next year’s award winners.
