You’re invited to Inland Hospital’s Let’s Go! Family Fun Day on Saturday, September 15 (rain date Sept. 16) between 11am and 2pm ~ a new, annual event kicking off a year-long series of activities focused on helping families with children live healthy, active lives. This event is possible thanks to a collaboration of Inland, EMHS’ Youth Healthy Lifestyle Program, Waterville Parks & Recreation, the Alfond Youth Center, and many other local organizations.

The free Family Fun Day will be held at the Inland Woods trailhead behind Inland Hospital in Waterville. Family-friendly activities at the trailhead will include a climbing wall, music and dancing with Mr. Harley, trail walks, geocaching, Let’s Go! Story Walk, games, taste testings, a light lunch, and free resources to help local families make healthy choices.

The September 15 event also kicks off a series of free and low-cost opportunities for local families to be active and eat healthy. Family Fun Series PASSPORTS provided at the event will highlight regularly scheduled events and suggested activities throughout the year to encourage families to engage in life-long healthy habits. Families who attend the kick-off event and/or monthly activities will be entered to win a $500 LLBean gift card to be drawn at the end of the first year-long series, in August 2013.
