Healthy Hearts Food Drive at Inland

Release Date: 02/04/2015

Inland Hospital is helping to fight hunger and provide nutritious foods in local communities throughout the month of February for national Heart Health Month. Partnering with United Way of Mid-Maine, Inland will collect non-perishable food items to meet special dietary needs of local residents living with chronic disease and to help all individuals and families access nutritious foods.

Inland Hospital is asking for healthy choice donations in particular. Suggested items include low-fat, whole wheat or whole grain items such as pasta and cereal, low-sodium canned vegetables, and fruit canned in fruit juice are suggested.

Non-perishable food items can be donated at Inland Hospital’s cafeteria or RehabWorks Department in the Medical Arts Building.  All items collected will be delivered to local food banks with the most need.
