Inland Earns Avatar Award for Ninth Year

Release Date: 07/20/2015

Inland Hospital and four other EMHS members have earned recognition for exceptional performance in 2014 from Avatar Solutions, a national organization that measures and compares hospital safety and patient satisfaction based on patient, employee, and physician surveys. These awards show consistent dedication to providing high-quality patient experiences across the EMHS system. Inland received the “Exceeding Patient Expectations” award for the ninth year in a row.

EMHS president and CEO, M. Michelle Hood, FACHE, called the awards a significant recognition of hard work in process redesign and performance improvement.  “I am so proud of what these EMHS hospitals have achieved. In particular, I think it is remarkable that the scoring is dependent on the perspective of not only the patient, – but also the employees and physicians.”

Healthcare organizations that receive an Avatar Patient Experience Award bear the distinction of leading their peers in the ongoing drive to improve quality and performance in healthcare. Besides Inland, the other EMHS members receiving 2014 awards from Avatar Solutions include: Eastern Maine Medical Center; Sebasticook Valley Hospital; TAMC; and Blue Hill Memorial Hospital.
