Boot Camp For New Dads, a community education program for first-time and new fathers, is being offered at Inland Hospital, 200 Kennedy Memorial Drive in Waterville.
The class is a 3 hour workshop covering not only baby care and fatherhood but also the needs of new mothers. New Dads can choose from one of three 2008 workshop dates: February 9th, June 21st, and October 25th. All classes are from 9 a.m. to noon in the Ford Grant Conference Room at Inland Hospital. Activities will include hands-on opportunities for prospective dads to practice baby care skills under the guidance of veteran dads who bring their new babies to class and an interactive session featuring the best advice veteran dads can offer the rookies.
Workshop facilitator Marc Pitman begins the Boot Camp workshop series excited to facilitate a fun and interesting program. As the father of three young children, Pitman brings real-world experiences to the program and his down to earth style will help new dads learn while enjoying themselves at the same time.
Pitman says “It’s a casual, friendly, no-pressure learning environment. Hearing the experiences of other dads is one of the best ways to gain confidence in one of the toughest jobs you’ll ever love”.
Inland Hospital is offering this unique program free of charge for fathers-to-be and new fathers in the Waterville community. This program is sponsored by Silvermount Women's Health Care and the Birthing Center at Inland Hospital.
