Assessment of the left ventricle - Graph and Details

The ventricle is the main pumping chamber of the heart, and there are two sections: the left ventricle and the right ventricle. In heart failure, it is the left ventricle (LV) that does not pump normally. Initial assessment of LV function is key to evaluating the severity of heart failure and determining the appropriate treatment. This assessment should be done upon arrival and during hospitalization.
